On Saturday 9 July the Disert Heritage project is delighted to invite you on a trip to the archaeology of NE Donegal. This is likely to include: Doon Rock inauguration site, Doon well and mass rock, St Colmcille’s birthplace and abbey, Grianan of Aileach, Raphoe plantation town, Beltany Stone Circle (all subject to change). The trip will be in the company of the student digging crew from our upcoming excavations at Disert and will be led by archaeologist Dr Fiona Beglane from Atlantic Technological University, Sligo.
